The town of Plettenberg Bay (known as Plett) is situated on the Southern Tip of the African coast and is located in one of the most popular tourist attractions known as the Garden Route. It is 240km to the west of Port Elizabeth and 110km to the East of the large town, George.

The golf course is a popular destination for tourists, the main attraction being the challenging layout built to USGA specifications, and is rated in the TOP 60 in South Africa.

Set in a nature reserve, the indigenous flora attracts a large variety of bird life and small animals like antelope and bush pig. The site has also become popular with the local bird-watching club and is home to a large colourful bird known as the Knysna Loerie (Taurco corythaix).

The number of rounds played per annum is 38,000. During the summer holiday season (December and January) the number of rounds peaks at the maximum daily capacity of the golf course.

The weather in the months of November, February, March and April is also good and the number of rounds played in these months is about 10% below the December/January peak. Booking is essential.
